How much gold does my money buy?
"How many grams can I get with my savings?" is one of the most common gold questions. The answer is a simple division:
Quantity = Amount ÷ Today's price per unit
The calculator finds today's unit price for grams of different karats, troy ounces and tolas, and shows how much your amount buys.
Why you may get a little less in practice
The unit price here is the market value of the gold. Jewellers, dealers and banks sell at a higher price that includes their margin, and jewellery also carries a making charge. Think of the result as the most you could get at market value.
